Over the past 35 years,
the CQDE has established itself as the reference for environmental law in Quebec.
With expertise recognized by a wide range of players (citizens’ and environmental groups, elected officials, journalists, legal and academic circles, etc.), it has never ceased to inform, empower and bring together allies committed to environmental protection, while taking part in strategic mobilizations across Quebec.
Thanks to you, we’ve won some major victories, but the work continues. Together, let’s continue our mission for a fairer, greener future.
« 35 years ago, the CQDE was a unique organization in Quebec, and it remains so today. Its impact on the environment and the public over the decades has been invaluable. »

Lawyer Emeritus, co-founder of the CQDE

I have downloaded your briefs from the National Assembly website and they are extremely well done. Thank you for your strength and your presence for the protection of natural and wild habitats. We need you now more than ever. I am very proud to be a member of your organization.
I'd like to point out that the Enviro Hotline and Obiterre are extremely relevant resources. The lack of legal education contributes to the fact that certain projects are carried out that shouldn't be, and legal education enables citizens to better understand these issues and take action.
Congratulations to the CQDE!
We are lucky to have you at the National Assembly.
Assembly. I can confirm that your rigorous, professional and selfless work
makes a difference in our work as legislators. Thank you very much!
My internship with the CQDE was a turning point in my professional and academic career. Not only did I discover a passion for environmental law, but also an environment that leaves room for citizen involvement and a rich contribution to Quebec's political and legal reflection on the protection of biodiversity and the fight against climate change. Joining the CQDE's exceptional team of jurists motivated me to continue in this field of law, and their support has been invaluable for the rest of my career.
Looking to the future: take part in our next victories!
With your support, we will continue our commitment to the development, dissemination and enforcement of the law to protect the environment and our living spaces.
