{"id":20046,"date":"2025-03-28T16:45:15","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T21:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cqde.org\/news\/projet-de-loi-93-le-cqde-denonce-lutilisation-du-baillon\/"},"modified":"2025-04-15T15:21:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T20:21:00","slug":"bill-93-the-cqde-condemns-the-use-of-a-gag-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cqde.org\/en\/news\/municipalities\/bill-93-the-cqde-condemns-the-use-of-a-gag-order\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill 93: the CQDE condemns the use of a gag order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><b>Montr\u00e9al, March 28, 2025- <\/b>The Centre qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois du droit de l&#8217;environnement (CQDE) strongly condemns the use of a gag order, a motion for exceptional legislative procedure, in the context of the debates in the National Assembly concerning <i>Bill 93: An Act respecting, in particular, the transfer of ownership of an immovable of Ville de Blainville<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">During the special consultations, the CQDE, along with several other organizations, decried the circumvention of environmental and municipal standards as well as the government&#8217;s intention to prevent legal challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cBill 93, which benefits only one private company and has no reasonable justification, already represents a significant step backwards for democracy.
