Before joining the CQDE in January 2026, André worked as a lawyer and policy analyst at the HIV Legal Network, where he worked on various issues related to human rights and HIV. Prior to that, he practiced as a litigator for the federal government and completed his Bar internship at Amnesty International Canada (English section).
His commitment to environmental law is part of a career in human rights and a desire to use the law as a lever for social change in the face of climate issues.
During his studies in civil law and common law at McGill University, André interned at the Quebec Human Rights Tribunal, with a human rights NGO in Cambodia, and in Geneva with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. He also holds a master’s degree in human rights and democratization from the Global Campus of Human Rights (Venice), with a thesis on the role of strategic litigation in defending children’s rights in the context of the climate crisis. André has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2020.
