Stéphanie Roy is a student, researcher, and lawyer motivated by the desire to redress the current environmental crisis. She is a doctoral candidate in administrative law at Université Laval and she is particularly interested in the government’s obligations with regard to the environment. Her doctoral research examines the trusteeship theory, a form of governance that would allow greater responsibility for the environment to be attributed to the state.
She is currently a professor at Université de Sherbrooke and is completing her doctorate in administrative law at Université Laval, under the supervision of Professor Pierre Lemieux. Her research and teaching focus on administrative law, environmental law and environmental governance. She is particularly interested in the obligations of the State to protect the environment in the interests of future generations, and the power of the courts to review administrative action.
